Expert mode if you are decent at parrying and dodging, roughly 50-70 hours and with side content up to a 100.
Do note that expert is really tough and you will die A LOT which is why it can take so many hours beating, you really have to master parrying and dodging on expert.
Took me around 40 hours to finish the game with some of it's side content.
Did all of the side content minus one bonus optional fight on expert and with dying a fair bit to a fight I had no right doing (Did not have damage cap removed yet.) I still finished it in under 60 hours on expert. The 30 for story, 60 for everything is pretty spot on, surprisingly. I just wasn't going to use a broken/exploit of a build for a silly achievement I wouldn't even feel like I was earning.
Yeah.. game journalists are either too fast and don't pay too much attention to side details and play it usually on easiest difficulty. I definitely would want to go for the hardest difficulty. Sounds like a 50~60h game for me then. Pretty good!
But I also did some 9999 early boss fight challenges just for myself since wanted to. And slowly & impressively was taking the game, since it is very good, did some backtracking for missed journals. Without those would take 5-10 hours less. Without parrying everything 5-10 less hours as well probably.
The story is linear, but there's plenty of opportunity to go and do side content when you want. It has an overworld map, think FF9 and the like. Although there certainly isn't as much side content as a game like FF9. So I'd imagine about 50hrs should be enough to 100% it.
If you've played parry heavy games before I recommend playing on the highest difficulty so you get more time out of the game.
