Chromatic troubadour
I'm stuck at the chromatic troubadour. I've tried like many many times and I just can't beat him. Some said to skip him and come back later but how do you skip him? I followed the natural forward route through the flying waters and don't see any other way to go but through him. I've got no problem skipping him and coming back later if I. Know where and how to go. I can't parry or dodge to save my life. And it seems like everyone judges you if you turn down the difficulty or use automatic QTEs, although I don't think either one would help me...I like this game and I would hate to have to abandon it because of this optional boss.

You don't need a method to skip him, just don't attack him if you don't want to fight

Pretty sure optional bosses can be run past completely, and the way out isn't even near them

you took the wrong path, the chromatic troubadour is, like all chromatic enemies, outside of the main story path. Chromatic Troubadour in particular is in a dead end, ther's just something to loot there, and the mean to go back to the main route left of you when you arrive.

youre not on the main path is whats happening. this boss is optional. and yeah hes the first proper challenge bc of how hard his attacks are to read. this will happen a lot in this game: youll find some optional enemy. some you can theoretically beat right there (if youre good enough) and some are meant for way later in the game.

Oh ok, I must have missed the main path somewhere...ijust didn't see it ...I'm not sure where the main path is...where I left the main path and started down the side path...I remember grappling across the buildings and onto the slanted balcony...is the main path before that?

tip to distinguish the main path from the others : the main path is generally lightened up by some kind of lamps / lights at the very least close to intersections. when at an intersection, look at which one is lit up.

Ok thanks that's good to know ..I saw lights I just thought it was for ambience. I really appreciate the help and tips.
The path forward in that area is at the top of the slope where all of the buildings are. I ran past it about 20 times looking for the where I was supposed to go next in that area.

Ok thx

I will state however like I have elsewhere: Pretty much every optional boss that you encounter in main story areas can be defeated at time of encountering them. But it will require learning parries and dodges.

Thanks for the advise but I dont think I can play this game..I found the main path but it has a boss I can't beat on it too..goblu I think he's called...so there's nothing else I can do...I tried him 20 times and can't beat him either...so I guess I'm out of options...lol

I assume you are playing on Story mode? While I can't say you have to play what you don't enjoy, I do have some suggestions: Jrpgs have always involved grinding, so perhaps a bit of that can help. But most important of all: Skill set ups and pictos and Lumina are very very important. Even as someone playing on Expert, neglecting all of those will cause even parry pros from getting very far.

I'm not on story...I'm on. Normal....it's just that I can't dodge or parry so I will never be able to beat anything

I finally killed goblu but I did it with automatic QTEs on...it kind of depresses me I had to do it that way...it makes it seem like cheating cause I can't do it the regular way ..makes me think I suck compared to other gamers
Have you ever played any of the souls or souls-like games before? The skill you develop playing those type of games is learning about enemy attack patterns from each of your deaths. When you learn their attack patterns you know what is coming so you have time to react. Dying many times is not a bad thing.

headphones, no music, maybe this can help. then save, by switching out pictoes, it autosaves. and repeat, if you see that you fail, reload to old save and repeat, maybe start the battle for the first few turns over and over again until you nail it.

then slow enemies with frost, burn them constantly, switch to virtuous attack ... mark then percee with maelle.. try to build up breaker with gustave

think about the pictos that can help you and the skills

sooner or later you'll become better, play when it is fun and don't stress yourself

got this one on normal difficulty through luck I've to admit
