I still haven't finished the game yet, and I'm close to the end. I feel there is a typo in the subtitle. When Maelle refers to her father she says "Papa", however, she keeps saying "Mama" (in voice) while subtitle typing says "Maman." So is this a typo? Does she mean 'Mama' when they type in the subtitle "Maman"? Please answer with yes/no answer to avoid spoilers. Thanks.

No, these are supposed to be french words used, hence the text is correct, voice actors are having a hard time with most french words though, throghout the game, even if they tried their best. :)

So in french maman is "mom" or "mother" but like all french words when spoken the last letter isn't completely pronounced. So she is actually saying maman but it also sounds very similar to mama.
