The PC version is nothing but a quick-and-dirty copy-paste port from the console version without any changes made to adapt the game to PC capabilities, hence the dev recommendation to play it with a gamepad on PC.
However, this is the case with a lot of games, even games that pretend to be "AAA". So this is nothing new, it's just sad.
The game is still quite fun though, but I can understand if you dislike to try it because of the messed up UI and controls. I dropped games due to that reason as well in the past.
Sounds like you're not even trying.
Like why did they make confirm button to pause/skip cutscene? Why not using start/pause button?
Or why start and touchpad has reversed function on DualSense? Pressing touchpad is usually used in other games to bring equipment menu.
Not a big deal. Just odd choices that leads to 2 topics per day about skipping cutscenes.
Still 10/10 and GOTY for me just to be clear. These are super tiny, irrelevant points.
Definitely GOTY for me as well, yet truth be said the UI is not optimized for PC, I hate having to press R in combat to see my full skills, that's feels "so console" lol
The F in cut scene I just found it by mistake,
Also the Pictos, I wish we can hide used ones its so hideous too much scrolling,
Lot's of things can be optimized and still GOTY, how incredible :D
As I mentioned above, it's a console game. You're forced to play with your keyboard and mouse in a way, that basically emulates a gamepad. Meaning essentially, your control and capabilities on keyboard and mouse is completely limited to the one from a gamepad, and you need to play with it, as if you were on a gamepad.
This is a typical cheap and low-effort port from console games to PC.
Ironically, the controls with an actual gamepad are even bad to navigate in the Inventory screen and menus. Unfortunately this game doesn't properly utilise controls, menu and screen real estate.
I don't know about your score policy, but the game is nowhere even close to 10/10.
This rating would mean that it has done basically every aspect almost perfectly well to the current standards and possibilities available to the industry. This cannot be the case just because of this topic alone here, let alone the other problems from the game not mentioned here in this topic.
Don't get me wrong, the game is nice and definitely worth playing. I am enjoying it myself too. It's just the details mentioned above that makes your statement questionable.
Cheers

Nice to see someone in the middle, curious of what your actual intake of the game? In different aspects whether graphics, gameplay, technical, story?
Sorry, I was editing my post a little when you responded.
I am currently writing an in-depth review about the game that I will publish in the Guru3D forums within the next few days, since I am still playing through the game.
Well, I've a lot positive but also some negatives to tell about the things you asked. If you're interested, you can check there every now and then (I am using the same username), though it's not online yet. I prefer independent platforms to publish my reviews, not here.
Anyway, let's not get too off-topic now.
Cheers

Cool will try to watch for it, topic remain, keyboad hilariousity and technicality
I’m old and for most of my life I really disliked 10/10 philosophy that a game needs to be perfect to get max score. It’s silly as it means it could never be given as no game is perfect. So you could only give 9/10or 8/10. Any other scores was irrelevant as it meant not a good game.
I give 10/10 to some of the best games I’ve ever played even if they are flawed. This game is way more fun than some other games that may technically be more “perfect” but less enjoyable. Less memorable.
