Having a real hard time enjoying the game after act 1 end.

This game went from the best RPG i've ever played to the weirdest and stupidest thing i've ever seen in an RPG.

Why in the world would you kill off the main character in a game where you have potions and spells to bring people back. You invest a week into this game learning these characters and out of the blue you kill off the main guy just like that? Seems so out of place in the story and it's just plain weird he is literally immediately replaced with some random dude who just shows up. I went back to the cliff and there isn't even a body. All of it is just weird and doesn't make much sense, like it was a last minute change. The tooltips have Gustav in them, the bloody songs sing his name. You had these relationships that were just starting to flesh out and then boom, i have some rando weirdo running the party now?

Honestly, like i said this went from the best RPG i ever played to seeing the weirdest and dumbest thing i've ever seen in an RPG.

What a let down. I really think this just killed the game for me.

He is not the main character. By the time he dies, you should definitely already be aware of that.

Verso will grow on you. He is a very good character. The game gets better and better the farther you go.

Don't get me wrong, you valid for feeling how you feel. But the game takes some pretty surprising leaps you'll not be very sure of until you get to Act 3. I would implore you to keep going as it continues to stay strong after that act 1 end.

I thought the game only got better in Act 2 and 3, although I didn't like Gustave much so i have to admit i was mixed with both sadness and happiness at the end of Act 1 lol.

Gustav had few death flags like, his motto "for those who came after" or his skill tree and no weapon pasives
Gustav was just MC for prolog and ACT1, he is also main drive (revenge and later... too big spoiler to tell) to our LEAD MC MAELLE, and she is a drive to our next mc Vers. i dont wanna spoiler much soo just keep play until end act2 then everythink will be have sens

I was more upset that the voice actor was done, but Gus was definitely not the MC. If he was Joel from the last of us, I'd have rage quit.

You can't find his body because the team collect it, they will make him a proper burial sequence later.
Dev really made it's quite fast lol. If you ever play Nier Automata, it's take 2 full playthrough to reach the same thing happened in act1 ending lol.

I was diligently writing in the journal every night hopeful that Gustave would make it back to his apprentices alive and a hero.

I also didn't really like/understand parts of act 2 but it all paid off later.
