if you wanna do the same i recomend start from flying manor, avoid fight just pick up staff, they is trader with few weapon lvl 28
One is party members quests.
Second is visiting all places which you now can reach with flying ability. There are lot of content, small and big locations to explore
You can gain a LOT of XP in the Endless Tower, which is basically a fighting arena with a total of 33 levels, which become increasingly harder.
You will also be able to find out more about the Dessendre family by exploring the optional locations and you will learn more about it all.
You can always enter the red danger zones, not all of them hide nasty bosses. I remember one red danger zone that even has a friendly nevron, whom you CAN fight if you want, and then it's pretty hard, but you need not fight him.
This is an issue, yes, but from a narrative pov it makes SO much more sense to explore the optional things before you tackle the final mission. Since some important story details and character bits are only found in those places that flesh out the story even more. It would feel odd to do these things after the main story, when you are basically sent back to the map before the final mission takes place.
Just don't equip certain pictos/luminas/skills if you feel the final mission in Lumiere is too easy after doing all the optional content. You can be as weak as you want to be in this game. You could also just use two characters, or play solo even and make it arbitrarily difficult really.
