Scaling / Level Experience with NG+?
Just wondering if any that already did NG+ could share their experience. Like at which level they went into their NG+ and if the early enemies put up any fight or not. Or at what point the enemies became challenging in NG+ with the level you had at the time.

I finished my game and am now not sure if I want to fully explore the optional things first or directly go into NG+ and do the optional stuff later. For the last main zone of the game I was too overlevled from doing optional stuff and the fights were too easy to feel good. So not sure what's a good level to go into NG+ with and if I'll make my experience worse by doing too much optional stuff before starting the NG+

simon was about 45 mil hp confirming one person above, i was about lv 90.

i did another playthrough on ng (not plus), at lv74 he still had 45 mil i don't think there should be variance

I personally did most of everything in base game, except getting to level 99 which was still slow on NG+

I think it really depends on how much you want to have access to when you start NG+. (edit for clarification):And I mean weapons, skills, attributes, pictos, lumina, etc. The latter ones can matter depending on your preferences like Clea's picto or Simon's sword.

I'm about to hit Act 3 in NG+ and will do a full 99 optimal run for my third (in case they have something new for, you know, the 3rd time...) And also fully recording the entire game, since I'd love to let the game "run" in the background when I work, like a long show. At least til the movie comes out (if they nail the same feels). Just a masterpiece for me I'd like to relive while doing something else.

I'd say difficulty-wise: it's a continuation of base Act 3 going into NG+ without the gimmicks the enemies have later on. I thought Act 3 was going to be longer on my first run, so I was 93 for my main party. Final boss was epic but shorter than I would have liked. --And of course the optional content is the exception to that since those hit hard both in mechanics and stats. Simon, Clea and Endless, woof. Owowow.

Though, I think many of us would agree that the hardest content is the Gestral Games... UGH... Beach volley can sink itself into the ocean... XD --no scaling though. XD LOL

Like I mentioned, cause I'm worried that the NG+ fights will be boring and unengaging if I'm too high level. Since that happened to me with the final zone and made the final boss rather underwhelming. Kinda killed the immersion to have a big final boss battle and kill him in barely 2 turns.

My thought is that all the optional things are still gonna be there in NG+ so I can look forward to more things to discover without making the early NG+ experience too easy.

Lol, still cannot get over the fact that in the end, l started doing 150 million damage to enemies; thus basically one shotting the most powerful secret boss.

The difficulty of NG+ enemies assumes you didn't do any of the optional content and went straight for the final area.

I did all the optional stuff and ended up being level 90+ and was easily 1 shotting everything. I'm at the part where I gotta fight the axons, still easily killing everything.

WTF I am on the last boss at lvl 48.

Can confirm that level scaling, NG+ difficulty and secret bosses difficulty spike just sucks balls to the point i'm gonna drop the game on my second run right now.

I've wanted to explore everything on my first run before going to final boss. Ended up leveling up to whopping 95 lvl and making a popular one-shot Maelle build just to beat the secret boss (the hardest one in the whole game). As a result the final boss of the story which was supposed to be a truly emotional experience... Couldn't land a single hit on me.

Currently playing NG+, tuned difficulty up from Expeditioner to Expert. Got to the Gestral Village. Still one shot everything. Sometimes even with basic attacks, not even skills. There is literally nothing to do in the game right now since NG+ overrides you original save file and I have no engaging fights to play.

The only option is to intentionally make my builds worse or drop Maelle of the party permanently and never use her as a reinforcement in case the main party dies. Which sucks, it's a very broken experience at this point.

So answering the OP's question: just ignore the hardest optional boss in the game. It's not worth it. It will just break the whole game's balance for you and leave you with no reason to play further except for completing the story.

Hmm, that was my fear about NG+ tbh.

Act 3 story was scaled on the basis that you could beat it without doing optional stuff straight out of Act 2. Therefore the start of NG+ would have to be similarly scaled.
Meanwhile, I'm pushing level 94 and managed to 1 shot every optional boss in Act 3.
I get the impression that NG+ will just be a faceroll for quite some time.

What does NG+ actually get you other than higher level of things? Any unique loot?

You can level up some pictos by picking them again. You get couple of skins (especially with one of the endings) and a secret weapon in the very prologue if you managed to save some festive tokens in the first playthrough =) Apart from that not really sure, i'm not so deep in the second run.
Lexomatico 4 de mai. às 20:19
game has no balance after act 2 but i'm fine with it... you have to actively try to not oneshot things with maelle if you only did the slightest exploration besides the main story... that "popular" build is just learning her 2 new abilities she gets in act 3 and slotting some basic damage enhancers on

What I can tell, as someone who full cleared the entire map, every sidestory mission, collected every picto, EVERY PICTO, and maxed everything out at lvl 33, all chars lvl 99, 400+ lumina on every char and being on NG+++, i still oneshot everything, i saw an increase in enemy HP, so the bosses have around 10 mio hp already, normal encounters 500k-1.3 mio hp. So the enemy HP is scaling up with every NG+. What I am testing right now is, if at a certain NG+ the game will be challenging and fun again, since oneshotting everything is nice to speedrun, but it ruins the experience in the long term for me. I will tell you guys at wich number of NG+ you guys can expect to have a challenge and do a full char attack rotation. I have literally everything, all i am doing is just speedruning trough main quest, it takes me about 2-3 hours only to fully end the game and start NG+ again. (ofc im doing on every playtrough the white nevron side mission for 100+ lumina and collecting the journals for another 100+ from gestral village traider) I will let you guys know when im about at NG+10 if there is any changes otherwise they really need to tune up those enemies, since having unlimited lumina scaling on chars makes you broken

Yep exactly this i did 3 times the story + all optionnal quest got all char at around 1.3k lumina each of them ( farming does help which is where i lost much of my time.)

I'm currently at NG++ went to Simon and obviously one taped it, to find a solution to this i had to go on nexusmod to get all enemies hp increase to x10 which i find it fine ( at least for simon) haven't tested it for regular mob/boss.

If you wanna check in term of NG+++ faster you can check on nexusmod the "Unlock Explore Anywhere Esquie's Full Abilities from start" so as soon as you get Esquie and be able to go in the water you can turn this on and fly so going thought the story is faster (obviously i don't tend to tell people to "kinda" cheat) for obvious reason but if the goal is to check in which NG+ people aren't going to one shot mob/boss it's a way to check it quite fast.

Also there is this : "Easier or Harder New Game Plus"

Vanilla new game plus adds fixed number of levels to NPCs for every NG finished. Its +60/90/110/130/150 levels in vanilla.
You may found new game plus 1 overly easy with most NPC being oneshoted or overly hard if you haven't explored or grind during first playthrough.

I added a few presets for NG+:
1) +15 levels to vanilla for evern NG+ (harder)
2) +30 level (much harder)
3) -10 levels (easier)

It doesn't touch the save and could work i haven't tested it so i cannot tell much.
But apparently NG+ vanilla does increase twice per 30 levels and then per 20 but he said that for the NG+5 so i have no idea if it goes in increase past NG+5 and i cannot found anywhere if someone said or did higher than 3-5 NG+ guess we gotta found it ourself later on.

Anyway, hope it help people to make their game a little bit spicy with those, have a great day peoples and happy gaming. :D

you need 50xHP mod for ng+ unless you one shot everything

No you do not need x50.

As i tested simon 30 run on x10 health increase i one tapped him twice due to getting high roll on roulette proc which he has 1.5 billion HP around.

x20 should be already enough to not one shot everything x10 might be low on Act 1-2 boss due to them having obviously lower health than Simon but x20 should be enough to not one tap those.

I could test it later but x50 is too high for sure.

I believe they are called Civilian for Lune and Scielle. It's a white shirt with black pants basically. The secret weapon is Baguette. You got one for each character and each costs one festive token. It lets you start the battle first, die and resurrect with 100% hp. It's a very niche weapon for builds based on breaking enemy on death i think.
