Alicia family is painter. Enemy family is writer.
Sure, but that feels more like a DLC than an actual sequel, expanding the current game is something they could definitely do, i just don't see them being able to spin up another entire game given the twist is now known
Well given they portray the writers as being a threat to the painters i would assume they atleast have a similar power, the issue is that now that you know that the worlds are fake and most of the people aren't real there are no real "consequences" and you would instinctively care less about the inhabitants of said world and they would simply become tools to help you achieve a goal
It makes for a far less compelling narrative imo
Interestingly enough, I'd like to see questions answered regarding canvases. If no painter is in the canvas, does it have life? If so then we truly saw the beings in the painting die no? As far as I remember, no information was given that implies they aren't sentient.
it would definitely lean more into meta elements rather than be able to enjoy the story inside the setting, so instead of feeling sympathy or seeing the conflicts of death from the Expeditions you'd have to deal with why the families are fighting and maybe some big reveals being only alluded to in their creative work instead of being something you can solve from the real world
