Getting items on ledges and above you

The platforming required is annoying.

There's hardly any actual platforming outside of Gestral areas. Elsewhere, there's maybe one or two platforms.

I am in the are of the first boss fight. There is an item on the ledge above you that requires jumping on tree root then on the edge of a stone monolith. Its pretty hit and miss.

Can you post a picture? I don't remember much platforming in the first level. Generally there should be easy paths for nearly every item.

Oh yeah, just remembered. You have to take another route for that one. 0 parkour required.

Honestly haven't encountered any platforming yet (except that 1 locale on the map...)

All items I've seen that are out of reach can be (eventually) accessed by exploring w/o jumping, etc. BUT, I'm not very far into the game--around lvl 20-ish.

Yea i found it. Not as annoying as I thought,

I think I know which item you mean, you actually have to come back there from another path after the boss. I know I tried to get it the way you mean and I could not, you'll get used to know when you're not supposed to jump somewhere and find a hidden path instead.

Generally, if your character grabs a ledge, you are meant to go that way. If you DON't grab it, you aren't supposed to go that way. Keep looking :)
