Works well enough for me. Are you sure you have the correct Picto? There is another one which seems similar in name, but gives AP when one of your characters die.

like darmon said, theres two pictos one gives ap on kills while other gives health, one is called sweet kill or sweet death i dont remember and im not sure what the other one is called lol
