first time i see this. something close was with bg 3 but the game significantly dopped in its quality after act 1.
is this one really that good and maintain its quality towards the end? thus far i like everything - narrative, ost is super good, tactical combat system mixed with modern souls-reflexes and ext.

game narrative in terms of intrique and quality i would place around enderal/prohpet (nwn1) and planescape torment. Obviously only judging first 10 hours.

It's one of the best games I've ever played and the best RPG I've ever played. They did a really good job with narrative, sound, art direction and gameplay. Usually it's chose 2-3 and the rest is ass.

You know... you're right about that.

This game made me feel like playing a Final Fantasy for the first time again. The perfect mix between art design, story, combat and exploration.

Man, I miss when that was what defined a FF game.

It gets better after act 1, the game gets better the longer it goes on. Second half of act 2 and the entirety of act 3 are amazing.

It definitely scratches the turn based/hybrid real time mechanics itch that people who've played the likes of Legend of Dragoon have been craving....*shakes fist at gust of wind dance with albert in that game*

I doubt it. A big part of the video game industry doesn't understand what makes games fun top play. They didn't learn it from prior great games and they won't learn it from this one either.

ngl, when I first started the game. Not only didn't I think the graphics were that impressive (graphics for the game, to be clear are fantastic, although sometimes too washed out), the game's sensitivity is also bugged for me so it was uncontrollable. I quit and thought I'd play later after everything is fixed .. man I'm glad I didn't give up. I haven't had this much fun in turn based combat... ever. I think it really is the interactivity of the tight qte's you have to do while defending and attacking. It makes it far more interactive and gives you the sense that you're playing an action game. Dodging, jumping and countering like it's some elder scrolls game with enemies doing tons of damage but having generally fair patterns you can learn.
