FOV bug with 5120x1440 screen
Hi all!

My 5120x1440 wide screen makes the Field of View inside the game very close, and no matter the settings, half the screen is ingame cut off.
I try windows, borderless windows, fullscreen etc. in all variatons of resolution,
non of the settings remove the problem.
The FOV bug enters as soon as i enter the first (tutorial) fight and doesnt switch back.
Anyone have an idea how to fix? Or have the same problem but in a different monitor size?

Ideally the game would be centered, having black borders (not showing the background) without being oddly stretched out so the faces and all are not cut off weirdly.

Thanks!

Likely you'll be looking for a mod to fix this rather than the devs.

Plenty of ultrawide and extreme ultrawide players out there. Check in on the Nexus page every now and then to see if it gets a mod to fix this.

In the mean time, just set it to a 16:9 resolution and play in windowed mode.

Which setting exakt would be the 16:9 ?
As in, what mode and which resolution? I went through so many combinations and nothing fixes the fov bug, they all make the gameplay itself cut off half.

Thanks for your comment!

In the graphics settings, change to windowed mode and then choose a 16:9 resolution, such as 2560x1440

It is not possible to set 2560x1440 in windowed on a 32:9 display right now unfortunately, need a fix desperately

i can recommend this mod: https://github.com/Lyall/ClairObscurFix/releases
It fixes the FOV bug and i can play with full resolution.

yes but it doesn't fix that you can play 16:9 windowed mode on a 32:9 screen
WIll using mods to fix this thing cause the achievements to be disabled?

You could try this mod if you’re up for it.

https://www.nexusmods.com/clairobscurexpedition33/mods/24

It does a few things including claiming to fix FOV of Ultra Wide resolutions.

I’m using it as well but playing in 4K DLSS Quality and can confirm it unlocks cutscene FPS.
