Hidden Picto Mechanic, Bug, or a Misread

So I have noticed that the Powered Attack Picto consumes more AP than normal but doesnt say it increases the amount of AP used on attacks that use them. Does anyone know if this is a hidden mechanic with this picto, if I am misreading it or if its a bug with this picto specifically?

Pretty sure it says it makes every effort to use extra AP per ap you use to make you do more damage.

Yes it’s definitely say „if possible it will use one ap to do 20% more dmg“.

Well the reason that led me to make this post was that it was consuming up to 3 AP per 1 ranged attack which means it was consuming more AP than it specified and from how it looked it was tied to how many enemies were in the fight

Maybe you have something else equipped which increase the used ap.

I double checked and once I removed it, it went back to 1 AP every time
