Question about the Gommage

So no spoilers or anything but lets say you are 25 and your birthday is January 1st. the 26th gommage happens on lets say December 30th. So it happens, you're 25, you're safe.

Then you turn 26 the next day.

Do you just turn to dust when you hit the same number as the pillar because the festival makes it look like everyone dusts at the same time but if it's a one off thing not something that goes on continuously.

Lol I thought about that as well. I'm assuming it's everyone who is of that age on that day. So if your birthday is the next day you are safe, and super lucky, or maybe not. Depends on how you look at things.

From my understanding, it happens on the same day each year (that's how other's can prepare for it). If you're that 'age' or older than what's on the monolith, you turn into dust. If it was only one age that got snuffed out, people would be more strategic on when to have a child and some will slip through the cracks.

But to answer your question, you will then pass the following year from what I understand. Also, there aren't old people Lumiere when you first start the game if you haven't noticed.

I had but the festival made me think it only takes out people that are that specific age, it hadn't occurred to me that it would merc everyone who was that age and up but then again I guess the monolith would look way less impressive if it had " greater than or equal to 33" on it.
