Scaling
Is AI upscaling still a requirement? I play with this off as I prefer to run games natively. I noticed In the options of my friend's game it is a requirement and not possible to turn off.

You can run it at native resolution using Nvidias DLAA, Intel XESS in anti-aliasing mode or TSR at 100% resolution scale

The game is heavy on GPU side, if you're planning to play at 1440p without upscaling , I hope you have a 4090 or a 5090,they are the only two GPU that can reach more than 60fps at native 1440p.

I seem to get on average about 55fps at 3440x1440 DLAA with a 5070 ti, at Epic settings. Medium settings, about 90fps. Maybe those numbers in the article were taken in a particularly heavy area?

There's some rough spots in the game. Just use DLSS and use the Nvidia App to push it to 4, there's hardly a difference between DLAA and DLSS4 unless you're at 4k, 1440p hardly has any blur.
I generally just use DLSS quality because it does a better job than native with TAA lmao.

I've been using DLSS4 (Preset K) myself and it looks fantastic even on balanced mode, I just had a play about with native rez after interacting with this post.

Are you using DSR or DLDSR by any chance?
For me the game settings always display the highest windows resolution when using borderless mode but it's actually render at your current desktop resolution, full screen mode seems bugged at the moment and won't get higher than 1080p.

the issue with that is up-scaling is on regardless in settings and it has 2 sets of anti aliasing ai and normal which is so unnecessary. i want to turn off up-scaling.

You can set upscalers to 100% what basically means native and no upscaling. It's done this way as modern upscalers usually have superior anti aliasing capability so it's used for that purpose.

"Superior?" I've seen it and games have looked worse and worse over the last few years. Sometimes things just render when your feet away on max settings and teleport in randomly.

TSR 100% is as native as you get in UE5
But TSR is where image quality goes to die.

Got nothing to do with upscaling, grab the optimized ini from nexus if you want to get rid of the (sometimes really bad) pop-in in the game.

People need to learn to title their posts properly. Don't be lazy, make an effort to make your posts easier to find in case someone has the same question in the future. Some poor fool is gonna Google about weapon scaling and and up in a discussion about UPscaling.
