Challenge Runs
I'm nowhere near fully beating the game yet, but I can tell there's going to be a lot of self imposed challenge runs of this game. Initially I gave up on attributes since everything kept getting easier, but enemies started growing a bit too quickly eventually. I think even a solo character run is technically possible (unsure if you can remove characters before you have at least 4 of them with you.)

For everyone else that's further, does it seem like avoiding attributes, skills, pictos, and even solo parties would be possible or enjoyable for skilled players? I suppose technically everything is possible if you can just parry everything, though a 6 hour boss fight probably isn't all that enjoyable.

The downside that everythin is avoidable is that on Hardmode the Damage is insane and Stats like Vitality or Defense are looking useless. Its all Damage stacking.

So what's everyone's ideas for challenge runs? Mine are:

1. Solo character. Only ever play with 1 character at a time at all possible moments.
2. No items/stats: Don't use attribute points, don't increase Lumina, don't upgrade weapons.
3. JRPG/No Avoidance Mode: Never dodge or parry outside what is required. May have to be done on easy and after tons of grinding.

I only completed the game with Verso. It wasn't hard at all, so I don't think it's a challenge.

Even on Expert mode? And what about all the optional bosses. Next, you gotta play through 6 times (yes, even Gustave early on) while only using a unique character each run ;)

Yes, on expert. With a build for aimed shots. Verso is very strong.

Let me guess, Dualist sword? Once I saw what the level 10 could do it became the first sword I leveled up. Shoot 9 times, do base attack that pretty much refills app, 9 more shots, then more base attacks...

Delaram..
Dualist sword has half the attack of other swords.. It's just pointless if you don't deal damage..
challenge run would be perma death. If you wipe, you gotta restart. Idk if the game has NG+, but do a NG playthrough.

There apparently is NG+, but I'm not quite there yet. Hopefully it just sets everything to level 99 while you're 99 yourself!

NG+ is. You get a weapon and a level 33 pictos right away.
Set audio to French and try and beat the game while resisting the craving to light up a cigarette, drink wine or hit people with a baguette.

I think this game will be popular among speedrunners and speedrunning is the ultimate challenge.

If this game had come out when I had even more time, it would be the first one I'd try to speedrun. But, just not really able to commit to that these days. Will certainly have to watch some streams though!

Oh, and another one: Win without using any consumables. I can certainly say that they are way too easy to spam constantly in every battle.

Yo ! Even with half dommage i'm doign mors thant 10K dmg /turn with all shots then bassic attack and got a second turn.

Use denerim + storm Caller on lune Then Fire Rage.
Use Sciel buff All set then Intervention on Verso.
Use all pictos tu buff attack, versatility, upgraded free aim, marking shot, rewarding mark and.... Roulette if you want some fun.

that's it
