The game tries to kill my GPU (RX6900XT)
Hey there, I hope someone can help me solve this issue.

The game is doing some funky ♥♥♥♥ on my system, I scaled it back to high settings (1440p UW) and XESS set to quality + locked 60FPS - and it still makes my GPU run ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy...like to the point my system shuts down. It also does not interact with AMD Adrenalin (never had that before) so I can´t enable the overlay or play with Radon Chill and try some lower FPS without going all the way down to 30 fps.

Anyone else struggles with an AMD card and has come up with some solution. Luckily I had it only through Gamepass, but so far I simply cannot run it.

I don't have that issue and judging by the lack of threads in these forums, I'd argue that most AMD GPU users do not have that issue either.

Almost every thread is from a AMD GPU user that has issues running the game. Of course there are outliers, but the vast majority of complaints from what i have seen have been people running an AMD GPU.
There are very few of those threads. So what I said stands.

I also have the 6900xt, no overclocking or changed settings in adrenaline, game works perfectly. I am using old drivers though (23.12.1) since i found the newer drivers to be much more unstable.
At first, my game was crashing whenever I casted Surcharge skill from Gustave without 10/10 charges.
It was an instant crash. Yet when I'm at 10/10 the game doesn't crash.
Now I'm at the cliffs to get the stone for Esquie and my game crashes at random in combat.
It's a huge pain.
I've tried every settings possible... nothing seems to fix it.
I have a RX 6950 XT so definitely and like everytime, AMD is at fault...

Thanks for all the replies...and this is not an NVIDIA vs AMD complaint at all, my AMD system runs fine with absolute no issues and runs UE5 games just fine - this is the first time I had these issues and it seems a game/system specific thing on my side, judging that other 6900XT cards running fine.

I appreciate all your input, for now I uninstalled the game and check back after a few patches, luckily I had some days left on my GP account and did not buy it.

The game does run on the hot side compared to other games. I realized it when i started sweating in my computer room and decided to check CPU temps, it was in the 80+ Celcius. Had to turn down some setting and lock fps at 60.

CPUs nowadays can run stuff at 80+ Celcius without any issues, but i don't trust the effect it can have on other components in the case to run that hot for hours.

hey, just a heads up op you are not alone.
I also have a 6900xt and my pc is shutting down after playing for a while, not a temp issue.
Everything is fine in my other games.Hope this gets fixed soon

Its probably a problem with power, unplug the power cable from the graphics card and check the plug. Plug it back in and check the game again.
If the problem persists it may be the power supply.

Run Cinebench CPU and GPU test and see if the problem recurs.
AMD cards seem to be having a lot of trouble with this game. I recall reading somewhere that someone rolled back their drivers to an earlier version and that helped. Maybe you could try that?

but still shutting down PC, ran GPU stress test no problems, theirs something not quite right with game, because have no problems with other games except Dragon dogma 2 if that as any bearing on it, don't no.
Do you also play this from GamePass? I'm having the same issues on my 5700 XT system and I'm starting to suspect it's an AMD system Game Pass problem
