The game tries to kill my GPU (RX6900XT)
Hey there, I hope someone can help me solve this issue.

The game is doing some funky ♥♥♥♥ on my system, I scaled it back to high settings (1440p UW) and XESS set to quality + locked 60FPS - and it still makes my GPU run ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy...like to the point my system shuts down. It also does not interact with AMD Adrenalin (never had that before) so I can´t enable the overlay or play with Radon Chill and try some lower FPS without going all the way down to 30 fps.

Anyone else struggles with an AMD card and has come up with some solution. Luckily I had it only through Gamepass, but so far I simply cannot run it.

I'd suspect a power issue or an unstable OC if your system shuts down.

If you are overclocking/undervolting, first thing to try is putting your card back to default. If you are overclocking and running your card at 100% capacity causes your system to shut down, you have an unstable overclock.
UE5 tries to kill most peoples GPU's. I have a 7900xt. Normally I would cap the fps at 60fps but if you are not even getting 60fps then your GPU is working 100%.

Have you updated to the latest drivers and software on the website. It won't download automatically for some reason. That may be why Adrenalin isn't working.

Oh, I reverted my undervolt after the first crash, but the game still drives my GPU into full load with aforementioned settings - never had it to this extem at reasonable settings.. I mean XESS is enabled. And it already starts to look grainy...it can´t be that bad optimised? And AMD Adrenalin is not even registering the game running...also a first.
I thought there was something wrong with my system... Today I've been crashing on AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX all day too.

Huh, my adrenalin sees the game though I've not tried using the sofware, except the metrics overlay which works fine.

Thanks, then it is maybe a "me - problem" for whatsoever reason.

6800xt GPU and ryzen 5950 with 1000 watts PSU, 64 Gig of ram, everything @ default, fans on max, and latest drivers
but still shutting down PC, ran GPU stress test no problems, theirs something not quite right with game, because have no problems with other games except Dragon dogma 2 if that as any bearing on it, don't no.

I have a Rx 7900XT and it seems I can run the game without crashes. "Seem", because I do not plan to play it now, I just played the first 10-15 minutes to see how it runs.

The game is based on UE5 engine with makes all games run like utter garbage when compared to other games with comparable visuals based on other engines.

its very likely either a heating or a power issue. i have a 6900xt, it spins up the fans but it runs rock stable. edit: i put xess off and run 1440p/high because performance wasnt good on ultra, maybe thats why it works.

Here is a performace video from my system with RX 7900XT and Ryzen 7800 X3d
https://youtu.be/pun5QW_572E

I undervolt and OC my GPU, so I do not know yet if this is stable longterm. The video recording ate a few FPS as well. Even so, +/-5 FPS this is the best I can get when upscaling to 4K with quite nice graphics.

It's a AMD issue that seems to plaguing all AMD GPU users. Nvidia for the most part doesn't have any problems. I would recommend not playing until the devs patch the issue

I don't have that issue and judging by the lack of threads in these forums, I'd argue that most AMD GPU users do not have that issue either.

Almost every thread is from a AMD GPU user that has issues running the game. Of course there are outliers, but the vast majority of complaints from what i have seen have been people running an AMD GPU.
