Dodge System WTF
inb4 some genius tells me this is a skill issue, but WTF is up with the dodge system? Am I supposed to be reading the enemies tells and patterns? I just fought the Red Head girl and she pretty much spanked me. As she approaches she pauses, so you get punished for Dodging early, and then she follows up with another 2 attacks to my 1.

What is this ♥♥♥♥? I'm setting the game onto Easy Mode sod this.

Once you have a full party and more heals, you'll feel less pressure. But yeah, dodging is always important.
the most prominent skill issue of the day.

Lost to tutorial

There's a mod on Nexus that lengthens the window to dodge and parry, that can help.

I've heard criticism about parrying and dodging, but I personally found it a bit awkward at first but I mastered it easily.
Sounds like a skill issue tbh...

dodge/parry is extremely precise on expert difficulty, i havent tried normal & story.
i ended up half way through the game setting music to below 50, eventuelly all the way down to 15, so i could hear the sound ques way better on enemy attacks.

some attacks are more about patterns while others rely heavily on sound instead.

the biggest issue i had with dodge/parry was how much visual stuff is on your screen towards the end of the game, making it really difficult sometimes to see what is happening.

Talking about the first battle with Maelle don't sweat it. I had trouble with it too, also started on easy as well. After a few more battles and first side boss encounter. I been getting more conditioned to it. Now been playing on normal and it's been fine. In fact besides the arena over leveled enemies or side bossed. At times it's actually a bit to easy, When fighting regular enemies and story bosses. It's all the side stuff done by choice which can be more challenging. Atleast how it seems for me so far.

Yeah it was the second battle with her, I guess the first real fight of the game.
The whole 'study the enemy to learn it's patterns From Software' stuff really isn't my bag, so I'm just gonna play on Easy. I cannot be effed to be reloading saves and trying video game battles over and over again.

According to the mod linked on nexus it's the same on normal and expert which is 0.15th of a second or 9 frames for those who are familiar with fighting game terminology. 9 frames while moderately tight. Isn't something I'd call extremely precise.

What's throwing people off more than the parry window size is the parry window timing. The parry windows starts later than what people have grown accustomed to, which is why some are struggling. People just need to realize that, and they will get used to it.
Listen! Almost every enemy attack makes a swish sound when launched. I purely reacted based on that sounds and have no issues dodging and parrying.
