Gustave is killing me

I'm trying to get into this game, but every cut scene is just the main character being insufferable. He's such a whiny, selfish, cry baby piece of garbage that it's incredibly difficult to listen to. I'm begging for the next mission to be Lune just putting him out of his misery and walking away. I honestly I don't know if I can keep soldiering forward with this guy in my ear all day, he makes me shut the game off.

The opening scene is his past love dying and then the very next cutscene has most of his friends who he's been training with most of his life all die too.

Dude lost the love of his life and almost all of his friends died like a day later, so yeah, he's a little sad.

I'm convinced that those who criticize any of the characters as being too whiny are psychopaths that do not understand human emotion. You're all revealing yourselves.

I feel the exact opposite about Gustave. I like all of the characters actually. Rare that I do.

As my predecessors have already written, I don't think he's Whiny. I think he's realistic. As has already been said, he lost his love and shortly afterwards almost all his friends. It would be rather unrealistic if all that didn't bother him at all.

You can also draw parallels with people in real life stress situations. People behave differently in these situations too.

but yes sometimes it feels like 4 girls are in the team, he is very very soft... but I like the crew so far

He's just a guy, he maybe have grudge and try to be the hero when sailing there but the real world break him. It's pretty realistic to me. The beach sequence feel like WW2 Normandy so fast lol.

Literally, other than the when they hit the beach at the beginning, he hasn't whined at all. As of matter of fact dude has been a rock star at dealing with grief. Literally watches his loved one get dusted and immediately takes off on the expedition with as so much as a weak cry. I'd be frickin mess. As a matter of fact, I cried more than he did.

I really don't understand complaints like this. He is just written realistically. Literally any normal person going through the same things in such a rapid span of time would be sad, and grieving their many lost friends.
