Unreal Engine again...
i have 3080ti and game can not run stable 60fps on 2160p high(!)(not ultra) settings on DLSS balanced (so ~1080p...) (game native DLSS is old CNN model 3.7.10, after updating dll to transformer model it looks aaaa biiiit better but fps drops too)...

U also can not turn native res in this game afaik, (u can use DLAA but u can not turn off AA completely) and that is causing a lot of shadow and hair flickering, ghosting on cloths and not only. etc even after turning off chromaabberation, dof, mb, and viniete it still looks kinda bad, strange... just another UnrealEngine problems...

I really wanted to try this game but atm... i will just wait for patches, and community mods/fixes... its sad.

ok, DLSS DLAA is some kind of broken in this game when your native res is 3840x2160p DLSS DLAA use 3041x1711p in full screen or window and looks a way worse than DLSS Qaulity which is ~2561x1441p full of ghosting flickering and smearing like abberation which is turned off.

I'm really starting to think that ultra wide, 4k, "top of the line" hardware is more the issue than the games being made these days. No end of problems for folk with high end systems, it's bizarre. More so when a game is well optimized like EXP 33.

it's just mostly unreal engine thing buddy afaik, i really dont have issues with other engines... but games like chernobylite or stalker caused me the same problems like here

This game is probably the best UE game that's come out in years in terms of optimization.

3080 TI too old and slow to reasonably expect to play modern games at high settings 4K with 60 FPS.

Also, I like that specs graphic you have on your profile. The subtext of '♥♥♥♥' is funny.

I completely agree I can play with everything on epic at still around 100fps with a 4070ti other games I play on medium lol

thats why i use DLSS quality when i can, 3080ti today is still a very reasonable gpu for 1440p gaming on high (not ultra settings), its like in top20 gpu around the globe, when 4080S is maybe like 35% faster and 5080 is 50-55%...

why are you trying to run games on 2160p on a 3080 in 2025
Viper Apr 27 @ 1:21pm
There is no other modern engine. What do you expect all games are on Unreal nowadays. What do you suggest they use.

UE5 is trash but this games technical performance is very impressive compared to other recent UE5 titles I’ve played that were stutter marathons (Black Myth Wukong and Silent Hill 2)

3080 Ti is a great card, but I am getting 80ish FPS (average) on High settings running 4K @ DLSS quality with a 4080.

To me the game looks fantastic, runs great, and I am well above the 60 FPS minimum I want to have in games. Really nothing to complain about.

yeah i agree that this game run very well, frametime is not stuttering, its smooth, its fluent and stable, i just don't see any quality in this game that would justify the power consumption of my gpu. this game looks for me like a decent game from end of previous 8th generation so 2016-2020 but with modern problems like AA ghosting, flickering caused mostly in UnrealEngine...

I will just wait for patches, and community mods/fixes. and for the time being I am postponing this game.

Decima Engine - is a really good engine (look at horizon zero dawn or death stranding)

frostbite engine - look at dead space remake, the veilguard( game is bad but looks good), Battlefield 1 and Battlefront are the prettiest looking games to this day and they run very smooth with low demand.

CryEngine - look at KCD, it didnt need to be another fps like crysis, this engine have potential.

Unity - I don't think there is another engine as universal as this one look at Hollow knight, cuphead, genshin, Sons of the Forest, escape from tarkov, Subnautica

honorary mention:
FoxEngine was really good... rip MGSVPP...
RAGE - used in RDR2 with addons like euphoria -

UE is absolutely piece of trash...but its purpose is not to be a good game engine, it is only to force people to buy the newest PC components.
Even on 4090@13900k, framerate drops to 55/57 fps at times.
