Damage cap 9999?
After I reached Monoco’s station, I enter optional area where I fight weird dancer who will one shot me if I miss my parry. It took me 25 mins to kill the boss lol. My main damages are from counterattacks. I noticed that it alway 9999. Is this a bug?

It's not a bug, you're limited to 9999 until fairly late in the game from what I hear. I haven't unlocked the higher damage threshold myself yet, so I can't tell you when it happens, but I've seen others talk about it. I'm assuming it's probably around the start of act 3.

What.. But I think I’m in the middle of ACT2 and I’m facing enemy with hugeeee health bar. Do you encounter these nevs?
I think the most u can do from a single hit is 9999 but if its an attack with multi hits u can definitely do more damage. My Maelle usually hits 30k in Virtuoso state
Use your picto passives they are on the right next to your 3 active pictos and try to make a damage build

Also thats optional area, you are not supposed to finish those immediately. Which is stupid design choice since there are no area map and in the big map there are no markers or anything to tell you what you skipped for later visits.

It's a normal design choice. You understand that it's an optional area by seeing chromatic in enemy name or when it one shots you. That's said, defeating these enemies early so far was the funniest part in the game for me. No, it does not need a map, it does not need a tracker to track those. Use your head for once.

I mean optional areas are good design choice, but to have no map or any other indication where that area was, is bad

It's like old FF games. 9999 limit until you get a break damage limit skill.
There is no act 3. Prolonged Act1, Act 2, Epilogue. I'm going to assume it's late act 2. I just cleared Visage and haven't found it yet.

ah, i was wondering aswell. thats a good information without spoiler. i did 9.999 damage against that flying lamp boss before gustave stumbles and cant stand up anymore ... sorry i dont want to write too much because some peoples cant resist to click spoilers even if it is marked as such XD
btw, incase anyone saying "but you dont own the game" ... like in that other topic because some peoples think "steam is the only gaming plattform on earth"
am playing it on xbox PC Pass

some ppls here should be mindfull of spoilers tho ... and mark it as such.
tho am honestly thinking to buy it on steam aswell, its an awesome game. devs which make awesome games deserve support.

I don’t get the idea of damage capping. I’ve just defeated some powerful enemies and bosses in optional areas early on and got some powerful weapons. After I use it the damage cap restrict my damage. So exploring optional areas early don’t worth it?

Well, if it says "Danger!" you aren't suppose to go there, but you can because of the game's design. The damage cap is the same as any RPG, you're capped until your characters feel strong enough to push passed those barriers and it is story related.
