Tell me more games like this please
I'm looking for more games like this to play after I finish.

Of course I've played all the older Final Fantasy titles. I'm looking for new/newish RPG's that use a turn based system.

The only other newer jrpg I've tried is Persona 5 due to great reviews but I bounced off pretty quickly. I just don't have a desire to role play a high school student.

Dragon Quest maybe.

Not really.

There are no games like this. Not with the same mechanics but more important none with the same gameplay and this quality of dialogues.

If you try other jrpgs you will find low iq, childish and repetitive dialogues and classic turn combat.

Thank you for that, I completely forgot about how well Metaphor was received.

Regarding the other title you posted, I see it's a part 5. Are the older ones important to play or are they like Final Fantasy? All self contained?
If you haven't played it yet, OMORI is another masterpiece https://store.steampowered.com/app/1150690/OMORI/

(if you want to play it in german, I made a full translation-mod for it)

They're like Final Fantasy yeah

Both are much more difficult than Persona 5. I personally like SMT more than Persona games.

Trails Through Daybreak and its sequel if you want more modern turn based RPGs with action elements.

Sea of stars - has a reactive type combat, oozes 90's RPG charm and is a fantastic game with some really banging tracks including a handful done by the man who did the chrono trigger tracks
Metaphor is probably the closest in vibes. It takes a while to get going though.

How has NOBODY recommended Yakuza 7 and 8? They have practically the same combat which I thought made the games so damn fun

FFX and Lost Odyssey. Specially Lost Odyssey. It's a mature theme game with some heavy emotional writing, etc.
I know you want new games, but I have to tell you about one of my all time favourite turn based games as a kid. Lord of the Rings: The Third Age.
Octopath Traveller games also if you like turn based.

Lost Odyssey is really the only thing that comes close, most of these suggestions are pretty awful and amount to "this was a jrpg I played and enjoyed." Unfortunately Lost Odyssey is an xbox 360 exclusive so...
