The devs must have known what they were doing with trying to bait people to believe she is 16, why? In many countries where the legal age is below 16 would have half the male population in jail if "16 year olds" were looking like Maelle

Doesn't make her any younger, she's still 16. In game she lost her parents at the age of 3 I think, and was passed around between different families until Gustave and Sophie took her in. Horrible experience, many such cases in real life as well.

So she's traumatised, experienced more than most people do in a life time, in less than 15 years, hence her attitude. Just like traumatised people in real life "grow up" faster. She's still 16 whether pedos in denial want to believe it or not lmao
