I got it eventually but all I can say is keep on keeping on and be patient. Take a break, have a smoke, a beer, a nap, a line of cocaine... whatever relaxes you; then come back and try again. You'll find yourself cleaning up and getting a rhythm but it's still a bit of RNG and horrible jank. Best trick I figured was once you land a good hit, try getting into a rhythmic spam on the button. The animation is timed so tightly that the delay in inputs might work to your favor here. I found controller easier simply because the analogue stick allowed me to aim diagonally from the center easier but I found to be more accurate I had to keep flicking the stick back to an opposite direction to ensure I realigned to the next input.
Hopefully something here helps you feel like you're getting more control over this horrible form of torture disguised as a minigame.
USE A CONTROLLER
I guess, it's a joke. This topic is literally the only one which you can find by word "raftball". I mean, yea, I guess, there is a lot of different topics with same message, but, cmon, be kind.
It's not about only whining, it's about sending message to developers (I hope they read all or most part of topics).
I’m sure I’ll try it out of curiosity later, but why is keyboard making it harder? Getting the right angle of attack?
you don't have to hit the kids straight you can fire to the side-upwards and be fine
fire rhythmic
it will come to you
