What happens if you attack the white Jar (light spoilers)
Just gave em' the resin, got the extra healing charge, and saw that I can attack him if I want. I'm not planning on doing it b/c the dude seemed chill, but I'm wondering if anyone tried the option.

You should kill all of them after you finished their quests. They drop some extra stuff.

Oh, really? Man I feel bad about doing it though. Also dunno if it affects the ending or some other part of the story.
It gives you a really good item for that part of the game, too.

I haven't necessarily had trouble so I'm not sure I need a buff. I'm inclined to spare it and see if it affects the game in some way.

As far as I know, aside from item from quest, defeating them gives you more of materials (for Lumina and weapon upgrades) nothing unique

Don't kill any of them there is something special later for each one you finish their quest and spare them

I figured that this game would make it a little trickier to go for the "murder optional side characters" option.

Are you using a controller? I had the same problem on my controller. For some reason, I can aim using the controller, but none of the buttons actually shoot.

Using right mouse button to aim and left mouse button to shoot seems to work fine, though.

EDIT: Just found out what causes this problem (for me). Leaving this here "for those who come after", so to speak: I'm using an XBox Elite controller with the triggers set to short travel (you can adjust them on the underside of the controller). Using long travel fixed this issue for me.

So let's say the first two had terrible accidents, can I still spare the others and benefit from it, besides from a lighter conscience?
Read some where on the internet said that there will be a special reward later if you spare them

I'm same way I only attack hostile creatures, haven't attacked anything in Dialogue or shot one of those retreating ball things. To engage with, assuming if shot it's week spot. The glowing thing in the middle. Would stop them dead in there tracks allowing for a follow up attack.

If you attack even one of them, way later on act 3 a pretty strong nevron will attack you. Killing it gives good rewards too. I dk the rewards for sparing though.
