You are commenting on the games mechanics and you don't even own the game. The damage cap can be removed later on but you don't care about that you only want to spread drama and misinformation.

Trust me, you do NOT want to know. Just this; you get it about 2/3 through the game. You must advance the main story, it is unmissable. Then you just need to unlock the luminous by winning four times in battle with the pictos equipped and all characters can have this effect.
You can, if you want to, beeline the main story and do all side content once you have all abilities, including traversal abilities and unlimited damage potential. Many enemies even require you to have this. So maybe do as little side exploration as possible until you reach the point in the story where all options are available to you.
