Genuinely helpful. I appreciate it. I had already beaten Hexga but boy howdy, did it take me a moment to figure out the color of crystals wasn't a phase it was taken but rather he was charging up invulnerability lol.
you only need to observer you enemys to see that stuff aswell
Bring Maelle. Have her equip the "break all shields for 3 AP" skill. Keep free aiming at the giant coloured crystal. Win the match easily.
Yeah it never occurred to me it was going to take multiple shots to "break" the crystals invulnerability, so it took me a bit to figure out what was going on.
Then after eventually losing because I couldn't keep up with the shield spam and making mistakes, I realised the crystal didn't start out orange, and I just hadn't been paying enough attention
After that, the gimmick clicked and the fight became infinitely easier.
