The game wont create save files

i dont know what to do ive had to restart the game from the beginning 3 times now. I know the game autosaves very frequently but when i look for the previous save its not there AT ALL. i was 1 and a half in and had to restart because i need to get off to do something else. and now i have to restart. is there any fix for this?

i dont know how to find the save file. i opened the steam folder with the game looked through all the game folders and didnt see anything about save files

Actually Lunix path is here I believe:

It appears steam makes a back up version after looking at it more closely on lunix.

im playing on windows and my computer literally doesnt have a sandfall save folder . like i looked for it in app data and theres nothing from sandfall there

I would also try verifying game files through steam also in-case you haven't. But the fact that you are able to play and it wants to save but the file isn't there when you load it back up, seems to point to something being wrong with the file structure if a save file is not appearing at all. Perhaps the game can read but not write where it wants. That would be my initial guess. If you are on windows you can try running as admin from the game shortcut and not steam if present. This may work as a bypass.

fk it i tried it just now and it didnt fix it i even tried turning off steam cloud nothing is working also when i close the game it says there was a fatal error and crash. no problem playing the game but i get and error when i close it.

Then unfortunately it seems it may be related to the fatal error. As the game may be crashing in a way that still allows you to continue playing. I know there was a error with the steam overlay that they pushed a hotfix for, you could try turning the overlay on and off and see. But I have seen a handful of mentions of fatal error messages that may be related to something else not fixed yet.

I had same issue. I had to make expedition 33 run as admin. With that the game saves no problem for me :)
