Please add button press icons for dodge/parry
It's super confusing to understand when to dodge/parry. Please add a button prompt the same way there is during attacks.

You press it before the attack hits you. It's not confusing at all, but it is difficult to time the first few times you see an attack. Watch the enemy and press the button right before they hit you.

This is terrible advice. You can't use visual cues to parry or dodge because they are off. You need to use audio clues, apparently. Either way, the mechanic is awkward.
What no, there are plenty of visual ques, its rhythm that you need to pay attention to. Once you get the hang of it, dodging and parrying will become quite easy and satisfying. The whole flow of the battle gets faster and faster and faster as you build muscle memory.

Just take the time, die a few times and understand the mechanics at play. Dying does not matter in this game.

They're already there, in the bottom left, unless you want them to pop up at the perfect time.
Honestly having them pop up at the perfect time would defeat the game's purpose i think, but i'm not the dev, so i do not know.
Just parry everything. Dodge is only for magic attacks.

Would be to easy if they did making the difficulty setting worthless. Since you likely would be untouchable. Was thinking be nice if they glowed or something but again would likely make it to easy if they did. Would start at story difficulty then increase it later. Give yourself room to learn and breath. I started on story and jumped it to expedition. After getting a feel for it without the pressure.

The enemy does damage at the same point in their animation every single time. You learn when that time is, watch the animation, and press the button at the right time. This is extremely difficult to do the first few times you see an animation, but it's extremely consistent once you know the timing.

Yesterday, I killed a pack of enemies in a late-game area I wasn't supposed to be in. The enemies were so fast that they had 10 turns before I could take 1, but I killed them with counter damage by parrying over and over. Yeah, I screwed up a few times, but that's what the revives are for.

This is not me defending the "fun" of this system. I think it could've been more interesting and fun, but it IS consistent for the most part. I haven't tried the Story difficulty, but if people are struggling there, yeah I'd definitely add parry indicators.

He could be lying, but I have also killed bosses first try without getting hit, it's not that weird tbh, not all the time ofc, but once you get the hang of the parry timings, even on new mobs/bosses, it's very doable to parry everything till it's dead, unless there are some weird attacks that make it really hard to time it maybe, but most of them are pretty obvious.

Not all bosses but quite a few bosses it is perfectly simple to do so.
i wonder if they considered also making dodge parry jump a QTE and decided against it.
Devs should also consider that there are players that needs visual assist to play. So they should add an option in the settings that will allow whoever to decide to have or not a visual aid (like the attack one). This is coming from an actual Dev QA which thinks about the player first. Not every player is able to consistently understand cues, some also just want to play the story and don't care about combat. They should give the option cause this might be a "game drop" issue for many.
As much as i love the game as is...

I acknowledge that i'm not the center of the universe and i agree that such an option (an OPTION i said, to all the angry mobs out there), would be great and would help reach a larger audience, making the game's barrier to entry less steep and easing in people into a genre that i hope to see flourish in the future. :)
