But dont worry, everyone that played just 20min of this game will bully everyone they know into playing this game, like back in the day everyone couldnt shut up about red dead 2.
Oblivion was made on Gamebryo, which predates Creation. But yes, both use C++ Libraries.
What do you mean by "copy paste" exactly?
They did. Its kind of weird how they seem to have done it too. I think given enough time with stronger hardware that has yet to come out itll do well. Everyone struggled to run the OG as well at 60 fps, unless you you were running two 7800 GTX's in SLI with and Athlon 64 FX chip or something like that. Most people here on the threads probably werent around during that time in the PC space to remember that
I can't tell from your tone if you think the whole "copy paste" thing is laziness or just the wrong design decision, but actually making a game feel like the original on a completely new engine is really hard, especially in older games where the gameplay and engine code is more tightly coupled. I didn't play the remaster because I didn't care for the original but if they managed to succeed at that with the remaster, that's already pretty impressive work.
I think that was the goal at least; to update Oblivion for new audiences in a modern, prettier engine, not to truly remake it. If you think that was the wrong approach, I'm not sure I agree but I can definitely understand it.
