A black person in a game does not make it woke, nor does having strong female characters. Now if this was a game set in medieval Bohemia in the 14th century and it had a random African person in it lecturing you about how awful western society is compared to his... then it would be different. This is a fantasy setting so the addition of a black person doesn't affect anything.
Saying its woke because its based upon the Belle Epoch is just weird. So does the addition of magical technology correspond with said epoch? Or the fact that they all live on broken fragments of land and have to get around with grappling "ropes"? Its only loosely based on something. I didn't notice that the boys were effeminate either. They looked like little kids. I despise the propaganda in western games as much as anyone, but its really a reach to go and see that here. It feels like some people are just looking for ♥♥♥♥ to get angry over.
1/3rd black people? I saw one black dude and he was one of the guys on the expedition. Where were the others?
