thats what I do. I hardly ever drop below S and even if I did there are at least 3 ways for verso to take 2 turns. one of them is handed to you as a weapon through story progress, one of them is from an optional boss, and one of them is a skill in verso's skill tree for 3 ap.
you could also just use the rank is based on your max health sword and use sheilds or healing to keep him permanently in S rank.
that said the point of my comment was that IF you find yourself consistently in S rank bring s rank skills. also you have to eat 4 separate attacks to lose the ranks verso cannot lose more than one rank in a single enemy turn. I have yet to see a combat with 4 enemies. closest thing to that are enemies that have turns outside of normal perimeters by spawning things that attack you under certain conditions. ive also never had an optional enemy lap verso more than 3 times.
That's what I do with him. Works great with the combo +1 attack picto too.
