I don't get the Lumina system...
So, you equip a Picto, fight 4 battles with it and you learn its corresponding Lumina passive.
The character screen shows me how many Lumina points i have...
But where do i set them up?
I've yet to find a menu where i can actually equip them. Not in the main menu, not at save points... Is that something you unlock later?

Click on the abilities under the Lumina number. It works pretty much the same as the abilities in FFIX when you set up your characters in that game.

So I understood the system, but didn't understand why I was getting so many of the items that increase your Lumina Points while being unable to use them. I looked it up and You find a guy somewhere in the story of Act 1 that lives in your camp that you can spend the Colour of Lumina with to give you Lumina Points. which makes sense, but it should have been given a little hint like "I wonder what this is? I don't know how we can use these..." or something along those lines just like the "Weird Pictos" you can get during the festival.

There's nothing to click on. Yes, it lists the Passives active because a character has the corresponding Picto equipped.
But the game's tutorial stated that *every character learns the Lumina at the same time*, and i just have no clue where to set them up.

What you mentioned only lists what Pictos are equipped, there is no option to set up Lumina independant of the Picto.

i think when it comes to game development in this regard the reason the game doesn't just throw everything at you is that its being expected that the player will learn more about the game and the items as they continue to progress though the game themselves.

i was wondering about those items myself but i just relegated to it will be something ill learn as i keep playing and low and behold the more i progressed the stuff i was wondering about was revealed.

click on pictos to edit them, then you can go to the lumina side and click it, there also should be a button prompt.

Nope. Like i said, it exclusively lists those from the characters equipped Pictos.

And from how the game explained the system, it works like FF9.
You equip an item, you fight with it, you learn the passive without having to equip the item.

Take my Lune for instance, 3 Pictos equipped (playing the German translation, so names may not be correct):
Lune has 0/4 Lumina points
She also has:
Dodge (1 Point)
Burning shots (3 Points)
Deathenergy 2 (2 Points)
active.
All granted from equipped Pictos and thus, they don't take Lumina points (which wouldn't be possible, as she has a limit of 4 and this Lumina setup would cost 6)

But without equipping Pictos, there is no way to equip Lumina, even if they are learned.

So either the in-game tutorial is completely wrong about how Lumina work, or the UI is an absolute nightmare.

EDIT:
Ohhhh, i got it. I tried it on characters without equipped Pictos.
You NEED to have a Picto equipped to then equip other learned Lumina...
This UI is a complete mess.

in the menu select the character then on the screen where it shows weapon, pictos, skills, and luminas. hover over a skill in the luminas section and you should get a button prompt on the bottom of the screen that says "Edit Luminas" then just press the corresponding button to enter the luminas skill edit screen

Yup, wrote an edit, i got there.
What threw me off was that you need to have at least one Picto equipped that grants you a Lumina skill, otherwise, there's nothing to click on to open Lumina selection.
You need to have something in that menu panel already to select more, which, quire frankly, is flat out horrible design.

I tried to set up Lumina skills on a character that didn't have a Picto equipped, which doesn't work

EDIT, AGAIN
Ok, it DOES work without having a Picto equipped...
You go to the Picto menu and press L3 (Which is NOT annotated at the bottom of the screen) to switch to Lumina selection.
God, i hate this menu...

Uhh are you just embarrassed lol? It was a bit confusing at first but nothing that 5 minutes of messing around didn't figure out. don't go to "their ui sucks because you took longer than others to get it.
Alex 27 ABR a las 7:45 p. m.
Their UI is fine. I've seen way worse on full released games. COD's UI is a hot mess cause they fill it full with stuff about microtransactions.
Haruspex 28 ABR a las 2:25 a. m.
I still don't understand wtf is lumina points lol

*Edit
Guessing that I can equip Pictos's passives without actually equipping them but I have to use my character's Lumina point limit?

Yes.

-If you equip the Picto, you get the passive for free.
-After a couple of fights, that passive is learned for the entire group (The picto icon becomes colored) and its called Lumina
-Each character has a Lumina point limit. Say, 0/4. That means you can equip Lumina passives worth a total of 4 points (1x 4 pointer, 2 x 2 pointer, 4x 1 pointer, a mix totalling 4 points).
Avenrise 4 MAY a las 8:56 a. m.
I'm not going to blame the UI but the fact I had to learn how Lumina works here means it is a tad clunky a system. Not sure why they didn't just go with slotables and limit the slots based on level but anyways...

You have to play 4 matches having a picto equipped before it becomes available for everyone in the lumina points screen. Equipping a picto grants you attribute bonuses (HP, Speed, Crit Rate) plus passive skill bonuses (gain 1 AP on perfect dodge). However, keep in mind that spending lumina points only grants you passive skill bonuses.
