did anyone actually playtest the chromatic hexga boss?

he is literally impossible to kill, you can't generate enough AP to beat him, i have to waste 3-4AP every round to just make him take damage, but then all that was for nothing cause he just gets 9 shield out of nowhere and then just one shots everyone.

just parry so you dont take damage. i just killed him by parrying his attacks. So hes not impossible.

Shoot the crystal on its back, with enough shots it will break and make him vulnerable and stun him

Tips for fighting it :

- Use Maelle and her spell who break every armor the ennemy have (+ add 1 AP for every armor shred)
- Use mainly Maelle has an armor breaker, shooter and break. Keep her AP for this.

- Try to have some spells who generate a lot of AP (Verso have one and Lune can generate AP)

- Dont let the boss rage. When you see his cristal on his back becoming red, shoot it 3 to 4 times to break it and "reduce" his color to orange, then white if you shoot more.

- Use picto with shoot effects. (Burn/Break/Dmg up/etc...)

- Lastly, try to always break his armor before it attack.

What do you mean just parry what about his litterly "unblockable jump attack" I cannot parry jump or dodge this attack and it one shots everyone never had a problem evading attacks until this guy

i tried few times but it is kinda rng with his unblockable aoe attack
one time he use it two times in row and othre he did not at all

His aoe attack I didn't know was considered "unblockable", it's the thing I always managed to parry and expedition 33 counter even if I mess up his single target attacks, because he definitely jumps party wide aoe and I managed to counter it every single time

The chromatic enemies are optional and are designed to be a lot tougher than the enemies in the same area as them. If you find you can't beat one come back later.

Weird. I've had no problem and I've beat about 5 different chromatic enemies so far.

Trumpet was the hardest to read so far, dude throws so many false moves

Make sure to shoot the crystal on his back until it breaks. Which means you may need to use the AP on all your characters to do so and only use basic attack.

Also, make sure to equip "Breaking Rules" on Maelle to remove the shield. It helps if the character that goes before her has the Luminas "exposing attack" which applies defenceless for 1 turn so Maelle gets an extra turn after using "Breaking Rules".

Once the crystal is broken, just go to town and win.

It's awful game design.

This game has the most inconsistent enemy design I have ever seen in any game.

Everything else around the combat is pretty good, but combat itself (along with the difficulties) is all over the place.

This boss in particular is just bad.
