Is this game playable if I ignore parry and dodge?
Everything about this game really sounds great, except I can't stand parry and block systems. They just aren't fun to me.

I understand people like those kinds of things, git gud, this game might not be for me, etc. That's okay. I'm not asking the devs to change anything, I just want to know if this game would actually be something I'd be interested in or not.

sure, there is an easy difficulty, its pretty much possible to play without parry/dodgin on it

No, I'm afraid not. The "turn-based combat" tag on the Steam page is a bald-faced lie. If you want the game to actually approximate turn-based, you have to use one of the two (out of three) difficulty options that insult your intelligence. There's even an accessibility setting to ignore the QTEs on your attacks, but not one for the parry/dodge.

I don't mind this system, I have to mod Elden Ring because it's too easy so I'm not above having my time wasted by rote trial and error timing mechanics, I just don't like being lied to.
No, you have to dodge, parry and jump sometimes.

On "story" difficulty the timing is very generous and you can miss them quiet often and still survive in boss fights but you still have to do them.
Some of the boss mechanics require them. If you completely ignore them you basically do no damage and get pummeled in return.
You also need to build up AP with successful parry/dodges so if you ever want to use an attack skill you need to use them.
The QTE reaction tests are a essential part of the combat system, not just a gimmick.

Same here. Swear it's something wrong with my brain bc I cannot do what are, effectively, Quick Time Events. It really vexes me.
However, it does say on the standard Expedition difficulty, that you can play without having to ♥♥♥♥ around with QTE parry dodge stuff.
no, it is not. even on the "story" difficulty, it's balanced around the assumption you're trying to dodge/parry attacks as often as possible. it's definitely more forgiving than normal difficulty, but you can still lose more than half your health to any individual trash mob in a single turn/attack combo if you try tanking their attacks. especially as you get further into the game.

Under accessibility options you can turn on auto QTE.

Why is this false information being spread so much? That option even specifically says that it does nothing for parry or dodge

I think you can spec heavily into Health/Defense and you'd be fine. You might have to heal a lot more and spec characters into that too. It's definitely doable I imagine. The skill variety is so high if you explore enough

Huh??? The game at its core is 100% turn based.

I’ve heard the game is playable without parry on easy mode. I think it’s possible of you invest into HP and learn how to heal.

But the game feels so fantastic with successful parry. Not sure if the game can still be fun without the mechanics. I can only add that dodging is easier so it might be a better answer for people who struggle with parry timing.

If you go pure defense on your build, yes it's possible. You can even combine a picto that decreases te damage gotten by 50% and +1ap per hit received.

No, sir. This is absolutely turn based. It's like how Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga was also a turn based game but had action elements incorporated into its turn based mechanics. There are several others like it as well and they are also considered turn based.
No it isnt. Its a core mechanic, thats really really easy, why maybe not just stick to autobattlers and movies?

Nonesense. I have not missed a single parry dodge and i am half way through the game, i also suck doodoo at elden ring, Played this on expert havent reset once.

First, you dont need to parry generally, dodging is very generous and gives you a massive amount of frames, you only need to parry flying enemies and they are by dedigj very easy to parry.

As a general rule for verticle attacks its aboutb80% down, match it up with movements of the monsters parts or certain visual indicators and it should never be missable.

This is in fact a turnbased game with real time mechanics and its exceptional.
