Every enemy in the main areas can be defeated as you meet them. What can't be defeated immediately are the major bosses in optional side areas, until much later.
In any case, like with most bosses, I just had to learn how they worked and made my way through them.
You need to have 5AP with Gustav and his hand charged 10/10. Then use overcharged attack and it will break his defences. This move is extremely good so it's worth to learn how to charge it.
To break his wall you have to Fracture it, and honestly yes Mime is annoying to deal with at the begining of the game but at the end you will realize he is the easiest mob to deal with lol
Has only 2 patern of attacks once you memorized them he like never hit you and it's just Free counter attack until you have build his fracture bar and just finish him off
Write down where you encountered an enemy you need to return to later, the game won't tell you what things are still unfinished it any of the levels.
Don't try to fight any monster you don't already know on the world map, don't explore any side zones you can't really fight the enemies of. The game blends zones of level 70+ into the area you have access to at level 15, don't waste your time, keep doing the main quest, explore later. Don't explore when you get new overworld abilities either, its also a waste of time. Just do the main quest, and once you're done, explore.
