Tired of UE5 defenders
4070 and can barely play without DLSS

Need DLSS plus frame gen for decent FPS, but then comes the absolute horrific ghosting.

"Get better hardware" shut the ♥♥♥♥ up? 2070 or someshit is the average GPU and most have even below that

I played veilguard on max without DLSS fine and its a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ frostbite engine.

I don't think its an optimization issue, its an engine issue

I'm 7700 xt AMD, and I was completely surprised that the game runs as well as it does at 1440p. So, I doubt it's fully optimized, but I get the sense that it runs better than many other UE5s.

Kinda feels like other gamers have forgotten the fine art of lowering the graphics settings in games. Just sayin, this game still looks pretty good on Medium graphics Performance mode.

Turn off FSR and see how fast it tanks. Idgaf if its 110 fps with max FSR, the ghosting is unacceptable bandaid

You just said performance mode, this isnt an insult but maybe actually open your eyes. Idk play this game and swap back to veilguard, BFV, Doom, even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ new world

No game on another engine is as horrible as UE5 and thats a genuine fact

Oddly enough, I have not found a way to turn FSR off.

Why would you turn off FSR or DLSS, though, if they give you the performance you want? I play at 1440/60 with my 4070, with everything set to high (epic textures) and it runs fine. No stutters.

I feel the issue isn't that technology advances and games are made with the latest engines, but that hardware costs have gone up so much. Gaming as a whole has become a more expensive hobby, especially if someone wants to play the latest AAA games. You can still build budget systems, but that usually means 1080p and medium-high settings (still better than the choice of 30 fps quality and 60 fps performance mode on consoles).

I'm not defending UE5, I just feel like a lot of technical issues people have with graphics nowadays could be mitigated if people were more willing to lower graphical settings lower than high or max. I have a mid-range graphics card and never experience framerate issues in games because I immediately lower the settings to something that I know will actually run well. *shrug*

To be clear, I'm not saying that the game shouldn't be optimized to run well on good cards at max settings, I just feel like I see a lot of people say that games are unplayable due to input lag, low framerates, etc, but they refuse to lower the settings to actually be able to play the game in an enjoyable manner. I saw this with MHW a lot when that came out recently, as well as the new version of Oblivion.

only more expensive if you play AAA ue5 garbage really. gaming has actually become significantly cheaper when you consider that the best games these days are indie and AA with fairly low recs

But you are

I literally just said, look at graphics of RDR2, Vielguard, Doom, Hunt showdown, New World, compare them to....Low of this game with performance settings to get the same fps and see?

Why should I settle for a ♥♥♥♥ game and ♥♥♥♥ graphics when there are other options out there

You are literally defending UE5 for what it is, a ♥♥♥♥ engine and telling me the consumer to deal with that ♥♥♥♥ on my end.

This is no different than saying the food I got was too salty so I should just go and rinse it off myself

Use a UE5 Tweak .pak from Nexus.
It helps.
Totenheim Apr 25 @ 11:02am
Also, playing at 1080p and 60 fps won't kill anyone and makes playing games looking nice way easier.

4-5 year old pc here, game runs without issues on highest settings.
Sorry to hear you have so many issues.
