Arena Question

Anyone got to the arena thing yet?

If so - is it just me or can you not block or parry or dodge the second dude in this area. Bertrand Big Muscle.

I have been trying and not once have I dodged or blocked any of his attacks and not sure if it's just me or if you're not supposed to be able to?

I managed to dodge once out of luck...but I can't figure out the timing on either of his attacks.
