Anybody got a "Fatal Error" Crash and Close?
I was playing with no issues for about 4hrs and then this pop up box appeared and all it said was "fatal error" and that it has crashed and needs to close.

I am on a very high end PC (4090, i7-14700kf, 64gb RAM), so it can't be my specs. Just wondering if this is a game issue or something else to worry about.

I am on the latest NVIDIA Drivers and the game is up-to-date.

I just posted a thread with a possible solution for intel gpus a few seconds ago for this problem without updating any bios or forcing dx11 to doom your fps.

TL;DR

- Download the Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility Tool
- Set the Performance Core Ratio to 50x
- Launch the Game again
- Hopefully profit without any crashes anymore

If the game runs without any crashes again and without setting -dx11 at the start options,
you can try to increase it to 51x, 52x etc until it crashes again.
I had the game crash with it telling me my GPU ran out of VRAM. I wasn't watching the stats of my GPU at the time but I, quite frankly, don't believe it unless the game has a memory leak. I have a 4080 Super with 16GB of VRAM and I can't remember the last time a game even used half of it.
It just crashes to desktop without an error message or crashes my computer completely. today i lost my savegame in a crash. Luckily i could get a backup and just lost about 10 minutes. I have actually been playing for 40 minutes until it crashed just now. What helped me was to change the properties of the exe to compatibility for Win7. But it is completely random. yesterday i played for 6 hours with no crashes. Reminds me of Baldurs Gate 3. 1st Act was perfect and 2nd Act was nearly unplayable. I can't imagine what pain it must be with a midrange GPU when you need raw power
It's a UE5 thing. Luckily the game auto-saves like crazy. It just happened to me for a 3rd time. Probably a memory leak that builds up then crashes the game after a few hours.

Installing older AMD Driver (Adrenalin 24.2.1) solved the issues for me.

I was experiencing this earlier. Using a 5070 with the latest drivers (hotfix). Updated windows and for some reason it works. I can play now after loading the game. Before it usually crashes at the loading screen after loading save file. Hope this helps someone!

Thanks for your tip. But i was playing on 24.2.1 before and updated yesterday to 25.3.1. The Same issue remains. I can play at a maximum of 20 minutes. I keep trying to find a solution though. I have a free weekend. I love to spend it like this instead of just enjoying a new game

My son is on 4090, crash left and right. I have 5090, can't start the game at all(Game pass), crashes after benchmark message.
I blame Nvidia drivers mostly, the game is bugged + UE. I did try some older UE games, they worked fine. Also games with no DLSS or Frame gen, they work. Strange I can run Assassin Creed Shadows on ultra, no crash.
I am also having issues with UE Crashing. Its not just in this Game, but Oblivion Remastered also always crashes after roughly ~ 15 to 20 Minutes, i think the furthest I got was 40 Minutes and the shortest was 5 Minutes.

I have a 3080 with 12GB. While thats certainly a bit tight on VRAM I dont believe either of these Games should make it crash. Even got Bluescreened by Oblivion once because it somehow managed to crash my GPU.

Huge shame, I would have loved having a good time with these games during my week off.

I have them via Game Pass, not Steam, but I was looking here in hopes that maybe someone is offering a fix I havent tried yet.

I feel like I ave already tried everything outside of updating my BIOS, which some people seem to say can help. Non-UE5 five games run without any trouble.

Try FPS 60 Cap (or max Monitor) to Release Stress on the GFX. Maybe it Helps

I did update BIOS, uodated chipset, forced pcie gen 4, 60fps, had no effect. I will wait for next nvidia driver and if that does not fix things, I might go AMD.
