Anybody got a "Fatal Error" Crash and Close?
I was playing with no issues for about 4hrs and then this pop up box appeared and all it said was "fatal error" and that it has crashed and needs to close.

I am on a very high end PC (4090, i7-14700kf, 64gb RAM), so it can't be my specs. Just wondering if this is a game issue or something else to worry about.

I am on the latest NVIDIA Drivers and the game is up-to-date.

Yep..I'll just wait, with normal launching (dx12) the fps is smoooth in 60, but it crashes almost instantly when i load a save (it started after 15 minutes in the prologue). With Dx11 it wont crash but the fps just keeps droping to 20. If they don´t fix it in the next 14 days ill just ask for reimbursement...it´s not really related to any specs, mine are good too, it´s just bad optimization
have you updated your mobo bios latly?
Not really, only my AMD drivers.

Should be stated this is a known issue with both UE4 and UE5. Its not something the devs themselves can do much about since its a problem specifically with the engine they chose.
the only strange thing is that this is the only UE game that im having issues.
This seems to happen to me with longer play sessions. It's happened 3 times:
1. Against the boss of the water area. Don't remember the combo of events that led to it but seemed random.
2. Entering the Manor from the Gestral area. After opening the door to the main hall, it crashed.
3. Exiting the Manor to go into the rocky cliff area later on.
Maybe its coincidence but two things happening in relation to the manor location seems funky.
Almost same specs as OP and close to same issues . Got everything working by turning off the Discord overlay. That is if you have it up or running in the background.
every 5 minutes, only UE game I've had a problem with

Have 14900ks+RTX4090. Suffered stability issues beforce. I though it was already under control. Played this game and already have 3 crashes in 5 hours. After exiting the game started to tinker again and received BSOD (page fault whatever blabla...). Lowering (again) P-core multipliers to x56 seems to fix crashes and bsod for now.
Had crashes before with others UE5 games.... Such a crap of CPU, this one lasted me 6 months until started with stability issues (after replacing my 13900k).
ive got a 5070, and with any Unreal Engine game, I have a problem. With Marvel, every 5 games I had a crash, and with this game, with DLSS in quality and everything in epic I go with 80 to 100fps, but after my 4-hour playthrough, I have the "fatal error" so I think it's something with the GPU or UE5 (probably UE5)

I believe if it was a GPU issue (well the 50th series is kinda hectic with the latest drivers) then it would happen in every video-game. But it happens for some reason ONLY with UE Games.

It's sad. I wish I could play more than 10-30 mins.

Did everything I could:
a) undervolt both gpu and processor
b) updated every possible driver
c) added everything to firewalls
d) deleted dx12 files
e) changed graph to lower settings
Still getting Fatal Error.
On dx11 the game is stuttering and not-fun to play :(

Sad thing, Marvel Rivals also gets an error after ~5 games.
God, I hate UE so much. Everybody uses it because it's so accessible and cheap to use, but it's such a piece of ♥♥♥♥ and full of issues that they're completely aware of but never fix. I miss when studios would just make their own proprietary engines that they knew intimately, instead of licensing some third-party engine.

Yes, what you described is exactly what happened to me. And as I went further into the game, it kept happening. This kills the enjoyment of the game, and hopefully they address it soon!!!

I'm guessing it's a memory leak, I get it after a few hours of steady play. With the autosave being so frequent it's more of an annoyance than anything major, but I keep waiting for a patch for them to fix it.
I think it might be the latest 572.02 drivers. I was on the 572.60 from early March previously, and didn't have a single crash. I just updated to the latest drivers today and it's crashed twice since, so I might roll back.
