I do agree that no armor is a bit of a bummer but I hadn't even noticed til you just said it.
I don't know how so many people got themselves deluded. It's unfortunate for them, but the game is exactly what I figured it was. I'm glad I wasn't wrong, because I love it so far. I need more JRPG-style games with adult characters, and mature stories with actual stakes at play
You can also change the difficulty if you want, which no Souls game would ever do, so you can still experience the story. Plus there's the auto-QTE thing. Neir Automata did stuff like this. So i feel like I got a turn-based Neir game
Hundred Line also disappointed me, so I guess I'll play Beholder Conductor instead or some random ass metroidvania.
From the trailers u could have imagined a Sea of Stars vibe
Chain Echoes is a much more faithful and superior tribute to classic JRPG
