A game cant damage hardware - it mostly just shows problems that the hardware had from the start.

I would take a look at the cables and plugs if anything is melting etc. and then think about contacting the seller if its really from the PSU and the noises really are not normal.
It's not damaging your hardware, it's push your GPU / CPU to the limit which causing more power draw then you are likely used to. Happened to me, HX1000 with a 9800X3D and 7900 XTX, both with automatic OC. When I play the game my PSU hiss's which kinda freaked me out. Opened all my monitoring tools on the second screen and holy cow I'm pulling a lot more power then usual due to how nice the graphics are.

Ordered a HX1200i cause apparently at full tilt my hardware needs it.

Still you should seriously look into it because by doing that games can show problems with your hardware. Especially with PSUs there seem to be issues with modern GPUs - connectors and power drain leading to actual issues. (Melting Plugs etc.)

Sounds like one of your components has coil whine under heavy loads. Power supplies and GPUs are the most common sources.

Yes it was both, I was able to lessen it some my moving one of the PCIe power cables to another port on the PSU. I likely wouldn't of heard any of it if not for the custom WC lopp being ultra quiet.

Its coil whine. its annoying, but not dangerous. try reducing the settings a bit on the game and it will probably stop. my 3090 whines like mad on cyberpunk at max settings

Hi, I've had the same problem with the cinematics in the game. I have a Corsair RM1000E (2025) PSU. Has it happened to you again in other games or at any other time? What have you done with the PSU?
