I love this combat system!
Same it's one of the best combat systems i have played in a long time. It really engages you and keeps you on edge all the time. I found that i acually fight every single enemy. When in other games i just run past alot of them because they are a chore to fight.
Right on. I love JRPGs, but a lot of them just because smashing one button over and over as you become overpowered. You can't do that here.
You can make your combat a lot easier with decent builds too. I was dying a bit and redid my party. Made a huge diff.
Parrying tough enemies and bosses for huge counter damage is awseoms.
I also love the Expedition (group) parry/counters too not just individual characters.
Very cool!
Skill in a turn based? Not for me.
They just want to button mash their way through and and have no challenge...
Have gotten better at it, but still a little rough. Just the one hit KO from some bosses sucks a little when you miss it.
Same, Qte games are lowest form of games you can get. If I wanted a console game I'd buy a console.
Kids however love this rubbish. Pushing a button when prompted is skill..
I did try this on Game Pass, and I am not so far into the game, just did my first steps on the island... but when I read about enemies, that _will_ kill you 100%, if you don't dodge/parry (and that within an unforgiving time-frame, even on easy) - then this is not a true Turn-Based-RPG, at least for me so I will leave it alone. Being 60+ is probably not the best age to do games which require good reflexes. To all others: have fun!
(PS: Just an additional hint: I came for the game, because I read about it, outside Steam, being Turn-Based. I did not read (or see) the part where they mention the reaction part. So I somewhat tapped in half-blindly, that's on me... Still a shame that it has this hurdle.)
This 100 percent. I love my turn based tactical games. Best of luck to us both finding something that will scratch that itch.
