So I average around 77-90 fps with DLSS Quality and everything at EPIC with 4K res.

Can't hit 120 fps, but why is this unplayable for you?

Lower your settings from EPIC... Framegen is nice, but not needed here.

Opening scene im at 70 something with dlss quality yeah and not much higher with perf about 90 with epic on 4k

I just have a large LG OLED and they like flicker a little with gamma variation when they dont reach 116

Its really a better experience with close to 116 on my rig

but game is very playable, im just politely asking for frame gen please

I personally will likely hold off till I can afford a 5090 oc'd or frame gen patch/mods - but I absolutely acknowledge that game is playable and this is a personal preference driven by un-ideal flickering LG OLED hardware.

The game is much easier to run on high instead of EPIC. You should be easily able to hit 120fps on DLSS balance. Unless you are CPU limited.

You can also try Lossless Scaling app. It’s frame gen is very good.

Oh this is a wonderful idea, i do actually have it! thank you wonder how it will do with g-sync and rtx hdr (lossless scaling). Also one day 4090 might get nvidia native motion smoothing that 5090s have rn

Max, I have 4090 also; i9 chip; water cooled with 9 fans. This game runs smooth as silk for me and looks amazing, BUT, it gets super hot with all fans running like a jet engine. Trying with everything a Medium to see if that works.

If my rig has problems, I can only guess what other people are going through.

Im being a little difficult admittedly that I expect around 120 perf : I am absolutely willing to use dlss performance and framegen however - usually I can get any UE5 title to 120 with epic at 4k with dlss perf and fg - latency is not ideal of course.

It just looks much smoother and no flicker at close to 116 on my setup.

I wasn't meaning to deceive good folks, that's my personal preference due to my hardware

The argument here should be that 120 WITHOUT fake frame generation w/ a 4090 should be possible, and the fact that is not the case is not a good sign.

The fact of whether someone needs over 120 frames to enjoy a game like this is not the point, it should be possible, especially with a 4090 GPU.

As for requesting fake frame generation? Assuming you achieve at least 80+ frames on a consistent basis? Frame Generation will feel worse than playing at 60fps - You need to understand how insane the input delay is with generating fake frames.

120fps is possible without frame gen.

Which cpu do you have? I have a 9800x3d and a 3080, i get around 90-110 fps with everything on high, textures max and dlss quality @1440p. Always depending which area i am and whats going on at the screen.

Yes of course on dlss quality at 1440p on high i get locked 120
Unfortunately I take nothing less but Epic at 4K - I am willing to dilute my experience with generous helpings of DLSS perf and FG though.

Point being UE5 is a mess with lumen performance wise. Toppest of rigs NEED frame gen if devs go with UE5 lumen for epic 4k they just do.
1080p 4090 is 100 and 5090 is 111 - 11 percent difference! 11!
