What kind of Rpg is this?
Can you pick your character? Is thier dialogue choices or any kind of choices at all in the game? Or is it like a Final Fantasy rpg thats mostly on rails?, not that thats a bad thing but i would like to know what im getting into before buying it.

Mostly like Final Fantasy but with incredible writing which is probably better than BG3 and a very good combat system if you are not disabled and can dodge & parry. There is plenty of exploration though.

It's much more like Final Fantasy. Linear, story driven, and lots of combat.

To be fair BG3 has to abide by DnD rules and lore.

jrpg on steroids, exploration > plot > fight
from rpg you have traits, weapons, skill tree, attributes

BG3 was made to be intentionally generic in good vs bad because the game has too many choices for players to take. You simply cant write some Oscar-winning story whilst making such a freedom-choice RPG.

The crafting that's in BG3, and the merchants in BG3 are home brewed. (IE not in the base edition, of 5e.) and most campaigns are more strict in terms of evil good than bg3. The game wouldn't be half of what it is if they follwed the DM guide and the core rule book to the T. What makes BG3 special is the home brewed elements. THE core/and dm guide doesn't even have prices for treasure. Much less how to make new items. also 5e has the most limited character customization that could be considered for a TTRPG. and if you multi-class, your character is likely broken and imbalanced. None of this is the fault of lyrian, outside the choise of using the worst RPG system that is availible on the market.
