Now Asmongold gets a free video about how steam mods are censoring any criticism.
I'm not really into this woke/anti-woke thing, but it definitely seems more complicated than that.
From what I can see, in general (with a few exceptions as usual) “anti-woke” people don't have problems with women, black people or LGBT people. It's been around in games for a long time.
What they object to is when the writing, immersion, gameplay etc is sacrificed because the devs want to get a message about modern sensibilities across in their games, in a particularly unsubtle way.
This is all the more glaring when the game is set in an ancient/fantasy era but tackles these modern subjects, or uses current thermes that break any form of immersion, escapism, or even “magic”.
A perfect recent example is Dragon Age Veilguard.
You don't have to be an “anti-woke” to see that the writing in this game is a disaster, many people who are probably not the image you make of “anti-woke” argue in this sense.
Are they anti-woke anyway? It would seem so, according to your definition...
I just have the impression that people created an imaginary monster, the Anti-Woke, which is closer to a demonic creature that hates everything in this world, than to a simple human nostalgic for a time when we could and knew how to tackle sensitive subjects in a subtle way without breaking the magic of a game.
you accuse "anti-DEI/woke" of being hateful, but i'm reading this post and posts like this and all the hate comes from the people who defend woke... It makes you think...
Sure can be trolling, but still...
I for one like it when bigots are punished.

90% of the posts in any forum are annoying to some people. just ignore them!
for many is hard to like a game if they don't identify with the character. That's because the best choice is to allow player to decide if he's gay/straight/white/black etc (when it makes sense). But a question doesn't hurt anyone. You don't like it, ignore it :)
No one cares what the rat boy has to say.
Many comment because they "harvest" awards... And I agree, it was not the best idea, because it encourages trolling
