Did it work? I can't find a solution, im getting random crashes every 5-10 min, after loading, after cinematic, etc.
It didn't work for me. Still getting crashes
Going into DX11 comes with performance impact i feel.
On my 7800X3D & RTX5080 i see drop as low à 50FPS in the manor (Epic setting) i "fix" this by "dropping" shadow.
For shadow "Intermédiaire" (the one under high (medium i think - Sorry not playing in english) boost my FPS from 50+ to 120FPS (still in the manor) (all other options are @epic)
This worked for me after trying 10 times to load my save and having a fatal error just after. Let's see how it goes from here
Suddenly today the problem appeared and I had no f-ing clue how to fix it. I tried several solutions and was wondering if the "30 fps fix in Cutscenes" was the cause but still i'm not sure if thats really it.
The things I tried so far were:
- deleting the D3D12 folder in \Steam\steamapps\common\Expedition 33\Sandfall\Binaries\Win64
- making sure that my "Performance Core Ratio" with the Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility was set to 54x (this fixed like 99% of my games crashing randomly because the i9-14900k CPUs
just sucks a55!
- Checking files via Steam for errors (somehow it downloaded two missing files, not sure what they were but the game still didn't work
The only thing that worked for me(!) was adding -dx11 in the game priorities -> start options via steam.
So far i'm able to play the game again without having zero crashes so far with settings on epic, DLSS & DLAA. (I do capped my frames to 120 fps at the moment but don't ask me why).
(Specs are RTX4090, i9-14900k for any1 wondering)
EDIT:
PROBABLY FOUND A FIX FOR THIS CRASH WHILE PLAYING WITH THE
Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility!!!
So the default setting for the Performance Core Ratio is at 57x. I lowered it down to 54x and got the game to run again with epic settings, DLSS & DLAA with -dx11 in the start options in steam but this doomed my FPS in the City at the beginning running only at 20 FPS max (wth seriously?!)
I then even lowered it to 52x ~ 50x, removed the -dx11 from the start options and now the game is running stable so far without forcing dx11 on epic settings, with DLSS & DLAA and finally stable frames in the city from the beginning with a lot of npcs at a stable 65 ~ 70 FPS mark.
Hope this helps at least one of you! 😭
thx bro, I've tried these too ,but my game still crash, it's really sad. before I set dx11 command , my game graphic and cutscene are good , since I set dx11 command , there are so many red cutscenes although I deleted dx11 command.... now , I don't have any clues how to fix this red cutscenes and game crash...
In short, if you haven't updated your BIOS in a while, that's probably the cause.
