This is why I mentioned making it stat based when the option is on.
Due to the immense success of Mario & Luigi Star RPG series (e.g. Partners in Time, Bowser's Inside Story, etc) there's historical proof that a good fun JRPG combat system with QTEs can flourish. Western-made JRPGS (most notably, South Park The Stick of Truth) also prove that.
It's just an acquired taste.
You quickly get used to the timing, after a couple of battles.
I played the game for about two hours on Game Pass, until I decided to buy it here instead.
