Games haven't really improved graphically that much, yet the top new games still struggle to run well even on newer hardware. That is even with all of the new frame gen ballcocks they keep pushing on us.
It seems like they're intentionally making games run worse so that everyone feels like they have to buy the latest cards and even they struggle to run anything decently at native resolutions.
It's like the Ray tracing tech. It genuinely does not look much better than the regular rendering, yet it absolutely destroys your framerates. There are games that look far superior without ray tracing. It's all down to the developers, the artists and how they use their tools to create atmosphere and environments. New software doesn't make better games, people make better games and the new software most of the time seems like a hindrance IMO.
Sure, there are good tech advancements and tools get better but the buzz word software culture we have to endure to drive sales absolutely ruins the tech. A PC that has the power and cost of 4 consoles struggles to run it at the same level? What the ♥♥♥♥ is going on?
